Potatofest 2006: A Metsu Mistake, with Soup and Champ
Woman Peeling Potatoes

Let me ask you a question: Do those look like potatoes to you? Not to me, either.
Yet a whole slew of art sites give that painting the same title: Woman Peeling Potatoes. Really and truly it's called The Apple Peeler. It just goes to show that there are a lot of artish folk who can't tell the difference between an apple and a potato, which give us all the more reason to help educate with Potatofest 2006.
(And don't you just love that dead rabbit lying there? That's why the smile on the Mrs. looks a little sickly. After she's done peeling that tray of apples, she has to skin the rabbit.)
Kim of The Upward Call contributes to Potatofest with recipes for Potato Soup and Champ. I'm a potato soup lover, too, and Kim's recipe sounds perfect. I've never had champ, but since it includes potatoes and chives, I already like it.
Want to contribute to Potatofest, too? Here's how:
Post something potato related on your blog
Post something potato related on your blog
- a potato recipe
- a potato photo
- a potato joke
- a quote about potatoes
- a story about potatoes
- a tip for a unique way to use potatoes
- a piece of potato art
- a potato quiz
- you name it--if it's about potatoes, it belongs at Potatofest
and leave the link in the comments or email it to me. I'll link to your potato link (or links) sometime during the month of Potatofest. If you don't have a blog, or feel you don't want to clutter up your blog with potato drivel, then leave your recipe, joke--you name it--in the comments and I'll work it into a post sometime during the month. Somewhere, somehow, I'll even include things as simple as a comment on your favorite way to eat potatoes, or your favorite variety of potatoes.
